Xbox 360
Pictured at right is a 360 project. This unit was purchased for 20 dollars locally. I am trying to repair the RROD with additional heating and cooling and remounting of the heat sinks GPU and CPU.
Its fun figuring out how things work. Even at 41.
Oh the added fans rock. They will be configured differently for final assembly but they cool the CPU dramatically.

My personal war with our Xbox 360’s
We were excited to upgrade our vintage black Xbox to a new Xbox 360 in roughly November of 05. Only one short year later we purchased a second 360. We initially used the place of purchase Wallmart and Electronic Boutique as our exchange location for our failing 360’s. Using Walmart’s exchange two times in one short year and Electronic Boutique’s frequently till they discontinued their Xbox over the counter warranty. We probably added up at least five exchanges this way. More recently the twins have been shuffled back and forth to Xbox direct. Xbox has now extended their RROD (Red Ring of Death) warranty out to 3 years, one year on all other issues.
I sit now typing this page in Aug of 09. I can comfortably count a minimum of 12 Xbox 360 exchanges since November of 05. Keep in mind I only laid out money for two 360’s.
Way to go Microsoft keep up the good work.
